Mildred Whitlock born circa 1784 to parents Thomas and Hannah Phillips Whitlock married on April 22, 1805 a William Hurst. They lived in Wythe County, Virginia. William was born about 1779 in Va to Absalom and Elizabeth Hurst.



Mildred and William are my 4th g-grandparents.

She married Samuel HURST 16 Dec 1835 in Wythe Co VA, son of William HURST and Rachel CUMMINS. He was born 9 Oct 1808 in Wythe Co VA, and died 9 May 1880 in Wythe Co VA. He was buried in Tipton Cemetery, Pulaski Co VA.

Mildred's father, Thomas Whitlock of Montgomery County, Virginia (now Wythe Co VA) signed the "Oath of Allegiance" on Sep 6,1776. He is believed to have been a Revolutionary War Veteran. October 8, 1795, there is record of a Thomas Whitlock in 7th Va Regiment and in Lee's Legion.



Survey for THOMAS WHITLOCK .. "140 acres of Land by virtue of an entry made 19th of June 1793 on part of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 10690 lying in Wythe County on both sides of Little Reed Island Creek a branch of The New River and Bounded as follweth to wit." .....



A Whitlock Family Association member has kindly sent me a copy of the Last Will of Thomas Whitlock which shows that he was living with family in KY at the time of his death circa 1830. His Will was Probated in KY.

Thomas Whitlock's parents were James Whitlock and Agnes Christmas.
